Are HEPA filters effective against COVID?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

A common concern is whether HEPA filters can filter viruses like the COVID-19 coronavirus. HEPA filters removes particles greater than or equal to 0.3 microns<\/span>, but virus particles are smaller. The coronavirus measures 0.06 to 0.14 microns <\/span>in diameter. Are air purifiers then powerless against viruses?<\/p>\n

How often should I change my Blast Mini HEPA filter?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Bangladesh, and especially Dhaka, has one of the highest air pollution levels in the world<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Because of severe air pollution levels in Bangladesh the Blast Mini HEPA filter lifetime is less than in other countries. We recommend replacing your filter after 12 months of use (at 8 hours a day) at the latest. That\u2019s maximum 2,900 hours in total; this is the amount of time you can run your Blast air purifier before needing to change your filters. <\/span><\/p>\n

Can I wash a dirty HEPA filter?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Unfortunately not.<\/b> We ran experiments to test this and found that washing HEPA filters does not prolong their lifespan<\/a>. In fact, washing HEPA filters with water actually decreases<\/b> performance. That\u2019s why we recommend you replace your Blast Mini HEPA filter after the maximum hours of use.<\/p>\n
