Volunteer Roles

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Smart Air. The following are the openings that we currently have for volunteers. If your interests and expertise do not lie in the following areas but you are still keen on helping further Smart Air’s goals, drop us an email at [email protected] and tell us how you would like to help out!

If you are interested in helping out but worry that you lack the necessary experience, go ahead and send in your application anyway – we provide training to our volunteers!


Social Media Assistant

As a Social Media Assistant, you will work with our social media team to produce online content across our social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tiktok, etc). You will engage with an international audience to spread Smart Air’s mission and goals.


Some tasks you might be involved in include:


– Design infographics and create videos about topics related to Smart Air’s work (eg. air pollution, climate change, air purifiers)
– Craft engaging social media posts to spread our message to a wider audience
– Evaluate our existing social media efforts to identify areas for improvement
– Conduct research and market analysis to drive social media engagement


The ideal volunteer would possess the following:


– Prior experience in social media or marketing roles
– Marketing and branding knowledge
– Ability to work independently
– Commitment to Smart Air’s mission and values


Workshop Coordinator

As a Workshop Coordinator, you will organize and deliver workshops to educate people about issues related to Smart Air’s mission. These workshops can be conducted online or physically in your locality. Workshop topics might range anywhere from general clean air knowledge, protection against air pollution, all the way to climate change.


Some tasks you might be involved in include:


– Coordinate workshops with interested organizations such as schools and companies
– Plan engaging workshops tailored to your local community
– Deliver workshops to a wide range of audiences
– Evaluate the effectiveness of these workshops and identify areas for improvement
– Reach out to groups in your local community to generate interest in clean air-related workshops

Workshop Assistant

As a Workshop Assistant, you will assist in delivering workshops to educate people about issues related to Smart Air’s mission. These workshops can be conducted online or physically in your locality. – Assist in the planning of workshops tailored to your local community
– Deliver workshops to a wide range of audiences

– Support the execution of workshops (eg. helping out with administrative tasks, taking photos of workshop sessions)

Content Creator

Web Development Assistant

As a Web Development Assistant, you will assist in the maintenance and development of Smart Air’s website. You may also be tasked to assist in the development of websites and web apps for future Smart Air projects.

– Develop and implement new features for the Smart Air website
– Research and develop technical solutions to improve Smart Air’s organizational efficiency
– Support the development of websites and web apps for various Smart Air projects

Engineering Assistant

As an Engineering Assistant, you will work with our engineering team to research, test, and ideate different products to drive Smart Air’s mission and goals.


Some tasks you might be involved in include:


– Design and conduct experiments to study air pollution, air purifiers, and masks
– Analyze experimental data to derive fresh insights
– Report findings in the form of experimental reports and data visualizations
– Publish open-data content for our online knowledge base
