We believe in a data-backed world. A world where everything we read is transparent and backed up by open data. We publish the test data, methods, and sources; don’t believe us, you can make up your own mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

#2 Smart Air is a social enterprise and B-Corp<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Our mission is to help people breathe clean air. What the heck does “social enterprise” mean? It means we’re driven by social impact<\/a>, not by profit. We are legally bound to achieving our social mission. we have no investors, no million-dollar marketing budget\u2014just a small team of air breathers trying to make a difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

#3 We write a lot about things we don’t even sell!<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Except in a few small cases, we don’t actually sell a lot of what we sell. Then why the hell do we write about things like masks<\/a>, trees<\/a> and car air purifiers<\/a>? Because our goal is to provide simple, informative information. No ulterior motive, that’s it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

#4 Smart Air won’t ask you to buy our products.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In fact, we’ll go as far as to tell you how to NOT buy by making your own<\/a>. In fact, Smart Air founder Tom Talhelm hasn’t earned a dime from Smart Air. Instead, he set up Smart Air to help people breathe clean air<\/a> and undermine the companies using misleading marketing to charge people thousands of dollars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Going-Out-of-Business Pledge<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We invite all governments of the world: please put us out of business! If someday air pollution is so rare that no one needs a mask or a purifier ever again, we’d take a deep breath and go on enjoying all the other cool stuff in life that doesn’t involve air filters.<\/p>\n\n\n
