The University of Chicago Center in Delhi contacted Smart Air to design and install a purification system in their 17,000-square-foot office located in central Delhi. The UChicago Center had high levels of PM2.5 in the air, which can lead to problems such as lowered productivity and reduced staff performance<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Options Provided to U Chicago<\/h3>\n

U Chicago was given two options for purification: the use of standalone purifiers distributed across the floorspace, or a purifying solution for their central air system. Standalone purifiers are often cheaper and quicker to install, but they take up more office space. As such, U Chicago chose the central air system solution for purifying their center. For this, Smart Air designed a custom, bespoke system that could be hidden in the false ceiling of the building and integrated into the air conditioning system the building already had.<\/p>\n

Tailored Design for U Chicago<\/strong><\/p>\n

To give U Chicago the most effective and affordable solution, Smart Air\u2019s engineering team designed a series of air purifying units to install into the air conditioning system of the building. it was taking polluted air from the outside, cooling it, and distributing it throughout the building.<\/p>\n

Smart Air made multiple purifying unit installed with performance-verified H14 HEPA filters and activated carbon filters, which were then installed in the inlet duct of the air conditioning system.

Success of clean air system for U Chicago<\/h3>\n

Following any installation, Smart Air will test and verify the purifiers are working correctly. Smart Air has made several follow-up visits to test the air across the U Chicago center. When Smart Air visited the center 1 year later, in 2017, we verified that indoor PM2.5 levels were just 25% of outdoor levels – even with multiple people coming and going.<\/p>\n

U Chicago was also provided with an air quality monitor so they can track their air quality, and show their employees and visitors that U Chicago is providing them with clean air.<\/p>\n
