Ultimately, this supplemental article draws the same conclusion as the main article.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">Does Wind Speed Affect PM2.5?<\/h3>\n<p>What if particulate matter can only be transported at high speeds? In order to test if wind speed affects PM2.5, I repeated the analysis for PM2.5 data at wind speeds below average and above average.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/PM-low-speeds-1.png\" alt=\"Hong Kong's pollution: PM2.5 data at wind speeds below average\" width=\"601\" height=\"548\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-7616\" srcset=\"https:\/\/smartairfilters.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/PM-low-speeds-1.png 899w, https:\/\/smartairfilters.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/PM-low-speeds-1-300x274.png 300w, https:\/\/smartairfilters.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/PM-low-speeds-1-768x701.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 601px) 100vw, 601px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The data shows that lower wind speeds in Hong Kong almost always correlated with lower PM2.5 levels, regardless of the wind direction.<\/p>\n<p>However, this also shows that air pollution was significant even without strong winds blowing PM2.5 from Mainland China.
