That\u2019s maximum 1000 hours in total. For your replacement HEPA\/EPA, you can get them from our store, starting at 75RMB.<\/p>\n<p>Why 140 days? Smart Air co-founder Gus tested a single HEPA\/EPA on his Original DIY for 200 days to see how long it would last in real Beijing air. After 100 days of use at 8 hours a day, effectiveness dropped 4%. After 200 days of testing, Gus\u2019s dirty filter was only removing half the particles in the room.<\/p>\n<div style=\"max-width: 550px; margin: auto; text-align: center;\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2017\/10\/hepa_longevity.png\" alt=\"HEPA Filter longevity\" width=\"662\" height=\"596\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Therefore, we recommend changing your filter after 1000 hours. You can use this number to calculate how often you need to change your filter based on how often you have your purifier running. For example, if you keep your purifier on 12 hours a day, we\u2019d recommend replacing your filter after 60 days.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We know that buying new HEPA\/EPA filters is a significant recurring cost, so we do our best to keep prices low.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"margin-top: 1em;\">Can you make HEPA\/EPA even cheaper?<\/h2>\n<p>We tested a 30RMB filter from China and compared it to our own filters.
