That\u2019s maximum 720 hours in total. Smart Air co-founder Gus <a href=\"\/en\/blog\/hepa-longevity-test-day-200\/\">tested a single HEPA on his DIY 1.0 air purifier for 200 days<\/a> in Beijing to see how long it would last in real Beijing air. After 100 days of use at 8 hours a day, effectiveness dropped 4%. After 200 days of testing, Gus\u2019s dirty filter was only removing half the particles in the room.<\/p>\n<p>India&#8217;s air is on average <a href=\"\/en\/blog\/indian-cities-best-air-quality\/\">more polluted than Beijing&#8217;s air<\/a>, so in India, we recommend replacing the filters sooner, at 90 days or 720 hours.<\/p>\n<p><img
