A common concern is whether HEPA filters can filter viruses like the COVID-19 coronavirus. HEPA filters removes particles greater than or equal to 0.3 microns<\/span>, but virus particles are smaller. The coronavirus measures 0.06 to 0.14 microns <\/span>in diameter. Can I wash a dirty HEPA filter?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Unfortunately not.<\/b> We ran experiments to test this and found that washing HEPA filters does not prolong their lifespan<\/a>.
