A common concern is whether HEPA filters can filter viruses like the COVID-19 coronavirus. HEPA filters remove particles greater than or equal to 0.3 microns<\/span>, but virus particles are smaller. How long can I use the Sqair HEPA filter?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

HEPA lifespans are tricky. Purifier companies like to give lifespan numbers without proper reasoning. Clearly, the HEPA filter will not last as long in Delhi air as compared to Swiss air.<\/p>\n

We estimated the lifespan of the Sqair\u2019s HEPA filter using two methods<\/a>. From the data, we recommend up to 800 <\/strong>hours of use. This is roughly equal to 3 months if you use the purifier 8 hours a day.<\/p>\n

Can I wash a dirty HEPA filter?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Unfortunately, no.<\/b> We ran experiments to test this and found that washing HEPA filters does not prolong their lifespan<\/a>. In fact, washing HEPA filters with water actually decreases<\/b> performance. That\u2019s why we recommend you replace your Sqair HEPA filter after the maximum hours of use.<\/p>\n
