While broader corporate emissions tracking is valuable, this report prioritises the essential data relevant to procurement criteria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additional emissions categories may be explored in future sustainability assessments as our environmental strategy evolves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To ensure accuracy, we have prioritised actual data over broad estimates when calculating emissions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Royal Mail, FedEx, shipping, and warehouse emissions are determined by weight, dimensions, and item quantity, ensuring precise freight calculations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Commuting emissions are directly based on employee surveys, rather than industry averages<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Office energy use and remote work emissions are calculated using exact employee hours, factoring in heating, lighting, and equipment energy consumption<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Business meals and travel, and recycled packaging use are calculated based on spend (\u00a3 spent) rather than assumed impact<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This approach ensures our emissions reporting reflects real operational impact rather than inflated generic estimates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Future reductions: planned structural changes<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Our previous sales model was largely consumer-led with a high volume of individual parcel deliveries. In 2025, Smart Air UK is pivoting to a B2B-first model. A new contract supplying 3,000 air purifiers to schools introduces a more efficient delivery and warehousing strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Key emission-reducing changes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Switch from nationwide individual deliveries to consolidated B2B drops<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>New distribution via Mango Logistics for this large B2B contract:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>All-electric vehicles and cargo bikes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Route optimisation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Urban warehouse consolidation in Orpington<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Outcome: We anticipate a 50-60% reduction in Scope 3 downstream emissions per unit from April 2025 onwards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Carbon reduction measures<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>To reduce emissions and progress towards <strong>Net Zero,<\/strong> we commit to the following actions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Supply chain optimisation <\/strong>\u2013 Partnering with logistics providers that prioritise low-carbon transport, electric vehicle fleets, and sustainable freight solutions. We will also collaborate with our warehouse partners to implement carbon tracking tools for improved emissions monitoring.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>B2B growth strategy<\/strong> \u2013 Expanding our business-to-business operations to reduce distribution emissions by consolidating shipments - sending more products to single destinations instead of multiple individual addresses.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Energy-efficient office practices<\/strong> \u2013 Continuing our commitment to hybrid working, waste separation, and energy-saving initiatives, such as promoting refillable water bottles and bamboo travel cups to reduce single-use waste.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ongoing emissions monitoring<\/strong> \u2013 Strengthening engagement with our shipping and distribution partners to track, report, and actively reduce emissions on an annual basis.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Scope 3 offsetting initiatives <\/strong>\u2013 We have partnered with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carbonfootprint.com\/plantingtrees.html\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.carbonfootprint.com\/plantingtrees.html\">Carbon Footprint<\/a> to support certified tree-planting projects, offsetting <a href=\"https:\/\/smartairfilters.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2025\/05\/certificate.pdf\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/smartairfilters.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2025\/05\/certificate.pdf\">3 tonnes of CO\u2082e emissions<\/a>, primarily covering our shipping freight emissions (2,508.25 kg CO\u2082e) which we will be unable to reduce via this plan. This initiative substantially decreases our overall carbon footprint and aligns with our commitment to responsible environmental action.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Monitoring and governance<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Our team will review and update our Carbon Reduction Plan annually. We commit to full transparency in tracking our carbon footprint and ensuring alignment with NHS sustainability targets.
