We believe everyone deserves the right to know the truth about air pollution and the air pollution industry. As such, a major mission of Smart Air is to share air pollution information in a free and honest way. We do this by holding air pollution workshops, running experiments on air pollution, and providing open data to empower everyone to learn the truth about the air pollution industry.
A cornerstone of our educational efforts is our DIY Air pollution workshops. Smart Air has run over 250 workshops educating more than 3,000 people all over China about the dangers of air pollution and how people can best protect themselves. We run workshops in partnership with NGOs, non-profits, companies, schools and other networks. We believe that through these interaction, we can continue the conversation and more people will understand that clean air does not need to be a luxury.

We do workshops in English or Chinese. Just let us know which you’d prefer.
For situations where it’s not convenient for everyone to build a purifier, we also do workshops with a single demonstration purifier.

Friends of Nature, registered on March 31, 1994, is the earliest nationwide environmental NGO in China. For more than 20 years, FON NGO has an accumulated membership of more than 20,000. From its office in Beijing, FON has established 3 focus groups and 23 local volunteer groups across the country.
Green Light-Year was founded in March 2016 and was registered with Shanghai Minhang District Civil Affairs Department as a NGO. Its mission is to develop a variety of public environmental education programs and to promote low carbon lifestyle through cooperation with communities, schools and businesses.
3ESPACE is an incubator for mission-driven projects to grow from ideation to proven models, and a grant for nonprofits with tangible social benefit and high impact potentials. Also with an online community, 3ESPACE is dedicated to connecting and growing China’s next leading social change and innovations.
