Smart Air attended the 54th National Industrial Safety Conference of the Safety Organization of the Philippines (SOPI) on November 9-10, 2022, with the theme “Growing OSH Concerns, Gaining Creative Innovation and Development.”
The event was attended by safety management representatives from various industrial companies in the Philippines. The program began on the first day with an opening message from Dra. Maria Teresita S. Cucueco, Executive Director of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and a speech from DOLE secretary and guest speaker Hon. Bienvenido E. Laguesmam. The event is preceded by educational safety and risk management discussion from various resource speakers.
The Smart Air booth was flooded with participants who registered to receive a Kaiterra Laser Egg on the first day of the event. Recipients of the Laser Eggs were able to learn the basic steps of using an air quality monitor. Smart Air believes that giving air quality monitors is a good starting point for safety management representatives in becoming aware of the air quality in their workplace and taking action to ensure the employees in their companies are breathing safe air.
Since the Laser Egg giveaway is limited to one representative per company, some participants were only given a chance to join the “SwAIRte Wheel” wherein they could win N95 facemask, Smart Air DIY Air Purifier, and Kaiterra Laser Egg.
On the second day, Smart Air Philippines General Manager Lyrio B. Woldring conducted the Smart Air Clean Air Workshop at the event. She discussed the important matters of air pollution, particularly the World Health Organization’s (WHO) annual PM 2.5 guideline.

Lyrio highlighted the simple solutions that people may do to breathe clean and safe air in their workplaces and in their homes.
Attendees were also delighted as Lyrio showed that the PM 2.5 level in the venue is 1 microgram per cubic meter. After the workshop, Lyrio received a certificate of appreciation from the Safety Organization of the Philippines.
The 54th National Industrial Safety Conference is the first big event attended by Smart Air Philippines. This is a great experience since the event focuses on safety and risk management and air pollution is one of the risks that people must be aware of to start taking action.
Smart Air was able to educate more people about the harmful effects of air pollution and provide access to air quality awareness.
