On December 2nd, 2023, the URSB-BA 202 class partnered with Smart Air Philippines to launch “Little by Little: Forging a Socially Responsible and Environmentally Aware Community” in Brgy. Calumpang, Binangonan, Rizal. This initiative aimed to cultivate a deeper understanding of health and environmental responsibility among the young hearts of the community daycare.
The day began with a lively tree-planting activity led by Mr. Shelumiel Beltran, Workshop Outreach and Testing Guru from Smart Air Philippines. Through interactive and engaging methods, Shelumiel emphasized the crucial role plants and trees play in maintaining a healthy and balanced environment. He explained how they purify the air we breathe, provide us with essential resources, and even combat climate change.
After the short discussion, Shelumiel led the planting activity by distributing 30 indoor plants and pots to the children. With the assistance of their parents/guardians, they actively engaged in activity. Excitement filled the air as the children participated in their first tree planting activity. Their eager faces reflected their newfound understanding of nurturing life and contributing to a brighter future.
The 30 indoor plants were donated to the Brgy. Calumpang Daycare Center and was placed inside their facility.
The event was preceded by a short orientation about the proper way of brushing teeth. The talk was led by one of the URSB-Class of BA 202, Ms. Avy Jean Menonza. After the orientation, the URSB Class of BA 202 led the distribution of food together with a gift package containing pencil, crayon, coloring book, toothbrush and toothpaste.
The day’s events extended beyond environmental awareness. Ms. Avy Jean Menonza, a member of the URSB-Class of BA 202, led a short orientation on the significance of dental hygiene. This interactive session equipped the children with essential knowledge to maintain their health and well-being.
To conclude the day’s activities, the URSB-Class of BA 202 distributed meals and gift packages to the children.
“Little by Little: Forging a Socially Responsible and Environmentally Aware Community,” a collaborative initiative between URSB-Class of BA 202 and Smart Air Philippines, successfully instilled valuable lessons in environmental responsibility, health, and personal care among young participants.
