Best Air Purifiers in Thailand [2022 Review]

Air pollution and COVID-19 have led to a boom in air purifiers in Thailand. But with so many options, it can be difficult to determine the best air purifier. In this article, Smart Air breaks down the top-selling air purifiers in Thailand to see which purifiers get you the most clean air for your money and which have the quietest operation.

HEPA Air Purifiers in Thailand

First, the most popular air purifiers we review are all HEPA air purifiers. This is because research shows air purifiers with HEPA filters are the most effective, safe purifiers to clean air. We recommend avoiding air purifiers with other gimmicky and dangerous technology including ionizers and ozone.

Comparison of Thailand’s Best Selling Air Purifiers

The below rankings are based on cost-effectiveness. Note, some of the more cost-effective purifiers are also quite noisy.

Most Cost-Effective Home Air Purifiers

Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier 3C.

Price: 2,990 Baht

CADR on High: 320 m³/hr

Noise Level on High: 61 dB

Of the Thailand air purifiers reviewed, the Xiaomi Mi 3C gives you the most CADR for your buck. It slightly beats out the Xiaomi Mi 3H and Pro, as well as the Smart Air Sqair. The main concern with the Xiaomi Mi 3C is it is very noisy, a theme among all Xiaomi Mi air purifiers reviewed. The 3C includes a built-in air quality monitor, but our research shows the readings from Xiaomi air purifier sensors are not reliable.

Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier 3H.

Price: 3,890 Baht

CADR on High: 380 m³/hr

Noise Level on High: 64 dB

The Xiaomi Mi 3H provides similar cost-effectiveness and design to the 3C, just with more power (and therefore a higher cost). Like the other two Xiaomi purifiers, the 3H is loud and includes a built-in air quality monitor, but our research shows the sensor readings from some of Xiaomi air purifiers are not reliable.

Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier Pro.

Price: 5,309 Baht

CADR on High: 500 m³/hr

Noise Level on High: 69 dB

The Xiaomi Mi Pro has similar cost-effectiveness to the other two Xiaomis. The Pro is the most powerful of the Xiaomi lineup. And like the other two Xiaomi purifiers, the Xiaomi Mi Pro is quite loud (loudest of all) and includes a built-in air quality monitor, but our research shows the sensor readings from some of Xiaomi air purifiers are not reliable.

Smart Air Sqair.

Price: 3,390 Baht

CADR on High: 315 m³/hr

Noise Level on High: 52 dB

The Sqair air purifier offers similar cost-effectiveness to the above three air purifiers at a slightly higher price point. A big advantage the Sqair has over the Xiaomi air purifiers is it is much quieter with a sleek design.

Quiet, Noise-Friendly Air Purifiers

Smart Air Sqair.

Price: 3,390 Baht

CADR on High: 315 m³/hr

Noise Level on High: 52 dB

The Sqair air purifier offers a 315 m³/hr CADR on high with just 52 dB of noise. On medium, the Sqair still provides 180 m³/hr of CADR at an even much quieter noise level of 42 dB.

Sharp FP-J30TA-P.

Price: 2,489 Baht

CADR on High: 180 m³/hr

Noise Level on High: 44

The Sharp FP-J30TA-P is one of Thailand’s most popular air purifiers, but it falls behind the competition in regards to cost-effectiveness. A positive is it only has a noise level of 44 dB on high, but this is still higher than the Sqair on medium, which also provides a CADR of 180 m³/hr.

Great For Large Spaces or Homes

Smart Air Blast Air Purifier.

Price: 18,950 Baht

CADR on High: 890 m³/hr

Noise Level on High: 51 dB

Different from the above air purifiers, the Blast industrial air purifier is suitable for large spaces with a very high CADR while producing little noise. This does come at a higher cost, relative to the small home purifiers mentioned.

The Poor Performers

Philips AC0820 Air Purifier.

Price: 3,490 Baht

CADR on High: 190 m³/hr

Noise Level on High: 61 dB

The Phillips ranked last in cost-effectiveness for home air purifiers, with a low CADR, high price, and loud operation.

Warning: Many Bestselling Air Purifiers in Thailand Found to Be Scams

Air purifiers that look like the one below are bestsellers in Thailand. They are imported in bulk from China and then sold under multiple brand names. They seem to be by far the cost-effective air purifiers in Thailand. The problem? Actual tests show the purifiers clean very little air, unlike what the CADR they claim the air purifiers have.

Cost vs. CADR

Below shows the amount of clean air each air purifier produces, along with its price. Note the Blast air purifier is by far the most powerful air purifier of the group, which should be no surprise as it is an industrial air purifier designed for large spaces and quiet operation. But this power and quietness also come at a larger cost.

If you are looking for the most cost-effective air purifier, CADR/price is the best metric to use. Below we show how much clean air each air purifier generates per 100 baht.

The Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier 3C came out on top in regards to cost-effectiveness. Three other air purifiers were closely behind, including two other Xiaomi air purifiers (Xiaomi Mi 3H and Xiaomi Mi Pro) and the Smart Air Sqair.

Air Purifier Noise Levels

Noise plays a crucial part in choosing an air purifier. Although some air purifiers may have a high CADR on the highest setting and therefore seem cost-effective, the highest setting is often too loud. Below shows how loud each air purifier is in dB on the highest level. Although the Xiaomi air purifiers are the most cost-effective air purifiers in Thailand, they may be too loud for many to use on their highest setting. The Sqair offers a quieter purifier at similar cost-effectiveness levels.

Bottom Line: Xiaomi and Smart Air Sqair Best Performers

The 3 Xiaomi air purifiers are the most cost-effective in Thailand. But, the Sqair is not far behind, and offers a quieter and still cost-friendly alternative to the Xiaomi line.
