QT3 Air purifier - Spare Parts

This was originally designed for higher CADR but we listened to feedback and added two side strips to close the gap. We explain why in our QT3 blog. QT3s sent from October 22 in the UK will have the side strips already inserted. Please check when removing the poly bag or replacing the filter that these side strips don't become dislodged.

Please note that when inserting the filter the arrow should be on the top, ie no padding. If you put the only non-padded side of the filter at the bottom, you will have a small gap at the top corners.

If you purchased a QT3 from Smart Air UK before October 2022, please email [email protected] providing your order number and we will send you side strips. Alternatively, you can tape the filter to the front part of the QT3 using ordinary wide tape, this can stay in place until it is time to change the filter.

There can be a bit of air that comes out of the inlet side. Not all of the air can go through the HEPA filter in one go due to the HEPA filter's resistance, so it goes through the back but will then be sucked back into the inlet. This article might also be helpful. You’ll see the same thing in a sealed HEPA vacuum cleaner, it blows out a lot of air but it is suctioning air in through the nozzle.

There are 2 versions of the QT3, the home and the travel. Only the travel version is available in the UK and we don’t recommend you leave it permanently plugged in. As with all rechargeable battery electronics, if you leave it permanently plugged in it will eventually impact the charge time.

The QT3 comes with a lithium battery which is rated to last at least 300 full cycles of charging and discharging. Similar to most smart phones, we expect the battery to last 2-3 years under normal usage conditions.

After this point, the battery may not be able to hold as much charge as when it was new. However, your QT3 will still be useable when permanently plugged in.

The QT3 comes without a plug to keep costs down for our customers worldwide. It is supplied with a 5v USB-C to USB-A cable for pairing with a plug that has a USB-A port. Since the EU ruling, USB-C will become the defacto charging cable. However, laptop cables are too powerful for the QT3 and may cause it to overheat. Always check the voltage before using any substitute cables, you should only use a 5v cable.

The QT3 is a personal purifier designed with louvres to ensure the air is directed towards your face. The more air you feel on your face (dependent on speed and how close it is to you), the more filtered air you will breathe.
