Earlier this year, wildfires tore through Southern California, leaving behind a heartbreaking trail of destruction. Tens of thousands of acres burned. Families lost their homes. Schools were displaced. And the air, thick with smoke and toxic particles, became dangerous to breathe. PM2.5 levels soared far beyond what’s considered safe, especially for children, the elderly, and those with respiratory issues. Many Angelenos were forced to evacuate, taking shelter wherever space was available.
Watching this beloved city burn for weeks was devastating. We knew we couldn’t just sit back.
So, all of us at Smart Air and SmarterHEPA decided to take action. We came together to donate $25,000 worth of HEPA and activated carbon air purifiers to the places that needed them most. These included evacuation shelters, schools, churches, nonprofits, hospitals, and even a fire station.
Our goal was simple: help people breathe easier while they figure out their next steps.

Here’s where the purifiers went:
- Clean Air LA
- St. Alphonsus Catholic School
- LA Children’s Hospital
- Baxter Montessori School
- White Memorial Church (a distribution hub for unhoused fire victims)
- Schools on Wheels
- Torrez Complex / Educare after-school program
- Methodist Preschool of Pacific Palisades
- Fire Station #34
- Non-Profit Cinematography for Actors
- NoName Book Club
- Latino Equity Alliance
- Fan Favorite San Diego
- Elysian Heights Arts Magnet School
- D’Veal Youth and Family Services
- Dunsmore Elementary
- Martial Arts Studio – Eden Miller
- Ms. Artie Hayes, Pasadena

We delivered a Blast purifier to a preschool with help from a dad and his daughter. He’s a firefighter who lost his home in the fires. His daughter’s school had to relocate due to smoke damage, and thanks to the purifier donation, the new space now has cleaner air for the kids to breathe. Moments like that remind us exactly why we do this.

We couldn’t have done this alone. Huge thanks to the volunteers from Aaron Yerlungs, Action for Care and Equity, Clean Air LA, and Clean Air Club. These amazing people unpacked, set up, and delivered our purifiers across the city, getting clean air where it mattered most.
Big thanks to the incredible folks at SmarterHEPA who helped coordinate everything, plus our amazing online community who pointed us toward people and places in need. Volunteers unpacked and hand-delivered Sqairs, SA600s, Minis, and Blasts across the city, a wonderful team effort.
We hope Los Angeles continues to heal and rebuild, and that it becomes an even safer, stronger place for people to live, grow, and thrive. God bless L.A.
