In 2020, Delhi’s air quality improved by 19% compared to 2019, largely due to reduced activity during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, despite this progress, pollution levels remained over 8 times the WHO’s recommended limit for PM2.5, keeping Delhi among the most polluted cities globally. Continued efforts are needed to achieve lasting improvement in air quality.
