HEPA filters are simple – larger filters can clean more air. The Sqair HEPA filter has an expanded area of 1.55m², equivalent to 22 sheets of A4 paper.
Effectively traps particles as small as 0.005 μm
The Sqair’s H11 HEPA filter can clean 95% of above and below 0.3 microns, PM10 and even 0.005 micron particles.
Why H11? We actually found the H11 filter to be more effective than a H12 filter for the Sqair.
Can HEPA filters capture the coronavirus?
A common concern is whether HEPA filters can filter viruses like the COVID-19 coronavirus. HEPA filters removes particles greater than or equal to 0.3 microns, but virus particles are smaller. The coronavirus measures 0.06 to 0.14 microns in diameter. Are air purifiers then powerless against viruses?
Actually, HEPA filters actually work great at capturing viruses. This is because a HEPA filter works not like a net, but through a process called diffusion. Learn more about how this works here.
How long can I use the Sqair HEPA filter?
HEPA lifespans are tricky. Purifier companies like to give lifespan numbers without proper reasoning. Clearly, the HEPA filter will not last as long in Thailand air as compared to Swiss air.
We estimated the lifespan of the Sqair’s HEPA filter using two methods. From the data, we recommend up to 1400 hours of use. This is roughly equal to 6 months if you use the purifier 8 hours a day.
Can I wash a dirty HEPA filter?
Unfortunately not. We ran experiments to test this and found that washing HEPA filters does not prolong their lifespan. In fact, washing HEPA filters with water actually decreases performance. That’s why we recommend you replace your Sqair HEPA filter after the maximum hours of use.

Good value filters. Last much longer than cannon filters. And work as well as if not better than name brands like LG, plus they don’t have any plastic like odor when you first put them into use unlike the name brands.
