The Sqair against COVID-19
A common concern is whether HEPA filters can filter viruses like the COVID-19 coronavirus. Science proves, air purifiers that contain HEPA filters or even lower grade filters can capture virtually all sizes of solid particles, including particles 0.06 to 0.14 microns in diameter – or the same size as the coronavirus.

Captures over 95-99.99% of PM2.5, virus & bacteria

Chosen among 10 different tested materials, The Sqair’s HEPA filter effectively traps 95-99.9% of viruses, PM2.5, bacteria dust, pet fur, and mold, giving you clean air in your bedroom. Sleep soundly without worrying about fine dust, allergies or asthma.

Capture more pollutants with a carbon filter

HEPA filters capture particles like small PM2.5 particles. Activated carbon, on the other hand, captures odours and gases like volatile organic compounds (VOCs). VOCs include harmful gases like formaldehyde and benzene, and can cause cancer, throat irritation, dizziness, and other not-fun side effects.

How long can I use my filters?

Hepa
6 months
HEPA lifespans are tricky. Purifier companies like to give lifespan numbers without data-backed reasoning. Clearly, the HEPA filter will not last as long in Thailand air as compared to Swiss air.
We estimated the lifespan of the Sqair’s HEPA filter using two methods that you can check here. From the data we’ve collected, we recommend up to 1400 hours of usage. This equals up to 6 months if you run the Sqair 8 hours a day.

Carbon Filter
3 months
Carbon filter lifespan is very difficult to predict, as every house has differing levels of background VOCs. As such, we recommend what we call the “smell test” to know when to replace a carbon filter.
To run your smell test, just take out the carbon filter and check if you smell a sour, acidic or chemical smell. If yes then this means your carbon filter is saturated and should be replaced. From our experience, it’s time after roughly 3 months.

Why the Sqair is a great choice

Quiet
On high, all air purifiers make noise. However, the Sqair is of the quietest on the market, in fact, 12 decibels quieter than the hugely popular Xiaomi 3H air purifier.

Eco-friendly packaging
We’re committed to reducing our impact on the environment, and one way we do this is by eradicating plastic from our packaging.

Minimalist design
The Sqair has a sleek, modern design, which fits perfectly in your bedroom, living room, or office. Never before has clean air looked so good.

Energy efficient
On the highest setting, the Sqair only consumes 38 Watt electricity. Depending on your usage (8 hours a day), The Sqair won’t cost you more than 5 – 35 Baht a month.

Real beech wood legs
The Sqair has real wood legs from sustainable forestry in Europe that provide a warm, homely feeling. Also they reduce noise and vibrations.

Easy filter replacement
Changing the filter is a child’s play. Just open up the Sqair, remove the old filter and insert a new one. It only takes 10 seconds.

FAQs
Are Smart Air purifiers better than other air purifiers?
Our air purifiers work on the same principle as any other brand’s air purifiers. However, we’re the only air purifier company in the world that is transparent with its data and that doesn’t deny the fact that air purifiers consist of little more than fans and filters. We don’t make air purifiers overcomplicated and overprized by adding useless gimmicks to them. Our machines are honest, fully data-backed and streamlined to do one thing: cleaning air. And they do this one thing really well.
Why is Smart Air a Social Enterprise? And what is a B Corp?
In 2013, we set Smart Air up as a social enterprise. That means we’re not driven by greedy investors who are looking for huge profits, but by a mission to protect people from air pollution. Since 2018, we’ve been independently verified by B Lab for our social, environmental performance, transparency and accountability. B Corps are businesses that meet the highest social and environmental standards for people and the planet. See our impact score here.
Do Smart Air purifiers filter the coronavirus (Covid-19)?
HEPA filter air purifiers like Smart Air’s have been shown to filter out COVID-19 viruses, and lower transmission. See the data and learn how to protect yourself now.
What else do Smart Air purifiers filter?
Our HEPA filters capture all kinds of particles ranging from 0.005 μm (nanoparticles) to 30 μm (pollen). This includes virus, bacteria, PM2.5, PM10, pet allergens, dust, and mold.
Our Carbon filters absorb VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds) such as formaldehyde, paint thinners, petroleoum fuels, or dry cleaning agents. Carbon filters also remove odors.
Of note: Not everyone needs carbon filters that’s why all our air purifiers come without them by default. We want our users to decide by themselves if they want carbon or not.
Find in-depth explanations on both filter types here.

The actual longevity will be according to how much time you use it daily, and the pollution situation in your area.

This is an elegant air-purifier that seems to be fairly efficient. The side of its HEPA filer is 26cm, which is not large, but the depth of the concertina fold is at least 5cm, which suggests that it has the same efficiency as a HEPA filter with a larger side but narrower depth.
The fan size of the SQAIR is large. At setting 1 it is barely audible, the air-flow through the device noticeable but modest. For me, setting 2 is optimal for the ratio of air-flow and purification capacity to noise. At Setting 3, the SQAIR did not seem noticeably less noisy than other air-purifiers on turbo settings.
The lack of a separate washable pre-filter from the carbon filter to (pre)catch large dust particles, which are separate parts of two other brands of air-purifier I use, is but a minor quibble.

The sleek and modern design of the air purifier is both stylish and functional. The device is also incredibly quiet, ensuring that it won’t disturb your peace and quiet, even when it’s operating at its highest setting.
In terms of performance, this air purifier does an excellent job of cleaning the air in my home.

The size and style is was a big part of why I bought this purifier. I like how simple it is – plug in, turn on. It sounds like a fan, so has some noise. But I was so impressed with how well it did – I immediately bought two more. And have been able to keep my 20 year old apartment down below 20 PSI in chiang mai during levels of 300++ outside

A great little compact purifier which doesn’t pollute your home with more Wi-Fi networks, and since there is no software and just needs power it continues to run after a power cut unlike other brands I’ve had.

I am very happy with this air filter. I purchased two Sqairs, one for my home-based Pilates studio and one for a bedroom. Very easy to assemble and operate, love the size and style, and I love the mission of the company.

So effective. Have cleared the air after burning some food when cooking and monitored the air quality improvements with my Purple Air monitor (significant improvements with SQAIR). Quickly cleans the air on the highest setting and the fan sound is not too disruptive (though certainly audible on the top setting).

Just got the air purifier a few days ago and so far it seems to be working well and it looks and feels like a well-manufactured product. One thing that slightly bothers me is the plug doesn’t seem to follow and modern polarization, it seems like something you would find on a very old appliance. I also expected the carbon filter to be bigger, otherwise, I think it has been a great purifier so far and has been working well!

I have purchased 2 of these stunning units so far and I’m Impressed. Much better for my parents than the xiaomi since I can leave it at speed 2 and forget about it. Would suggest it over the DIY

This product just got delivered today. The design and look is very nice. I like that the cost is affordable. I have been running this at Fan speed 2 since speed 3 is causing a lot of noise. Can only run it at that speed once am away from the room. When I switched it on the baseline data was: PM 2.5 was at 260 micro gram per metre cube; After running this for 20 minutes at speed 2, it reduced to 180 and now after half an hour the PM 2.5 in my 25 square meter room is around 125. Usually with other industry players – one can lower this down to 70 or 50 in the room already (on Turbo mode). So far so good will post another update after few more days.

I have a low tolerance for noise, but I don’t notice the sound of the lowest setting at all! Number two is also fine for me. I live in a very polluted area and the Squair cleans the air well. Thanks

Got the SQAIR last week. It’s a great product to have. With this we are at peace knowing that we are breathing clean air indoors. It is worth every paisa (penny).
