上个星期的文章我们探讨了“口罩真的管用吗？”，毫无疑问，经过很多口罩测试之后的结果显示， 我认为口罩能够阻隔空气污染确实有科学依据 。但是还是有一些疑团需要得到解答。也许最大的疑团就是——这些口罩都能戴多久？
口罩只能戴一天？
我经常遇到人说只能戴一天，比如在知乎上，还有赞同他的115个人：

3M怎么说？
我去年有机会去3M的实验室。
我在3M实验室问了他们的工作人员，他们没给出答案。我认为他们是担心给出一个具体的数据，因为很多口罩使用者是在污染物浓度超高或者毒性很强的工业环境中使用，所以大致给出一个“它能戴X天”这样的数字会误导一些在完全不同的环境中工作的人。但是对于像我们一样处在正常的污染范围中的中国居民来说，我们需要一个大致的指导方针。
终于！测试
很幸运，我去做密封性测试的时候，还带了一个已经使用了11天的9332型口罩。这里的“使用”，意思是在夏季的北京戴着口罩骑着自行车汗流浃背地在城里转。估计11天中我每天至少戴4次口罩。
如果测试中我们有更多的口罩，并且测试了更长的时间会更好。但是这个测试数据至少可以检验大众普遍认为的口罩只能用一次或者用一天的想法是否靠谱。
所以数据究竟说了什么？这是一个全新的9332型口罩（左）和我的用了11天的9332型口罩（右）对比结果：
98%对于一个已经使用了11天的口罩来说很不错！这就反驳了这些口罩只能用一两次的想法。
到底能戴多久？
我一个口罩一般会用2-4周。到那时口罩已经变得太恶心我自己都想扔掉它了，或者橡皮筋松紧带已经开始坏掉。不过，我希望能有更多这样的测试；这样才能真正知道能戴多久。

in my case i would not take any chances, once im inside the home have to remove the mask right away and soak it in boiled water without messing up the material for reuse. 3 things you can take away by doing so: 1. killing whatever was filtered in the mask when you are outside 2.you may be able to see whether the material is still water resistant (thats to repel droplets in the environment and if not then replace). option 2: soak it in alcohol.
In terms of eliminating bacteria, would lightly spraying the surfaces with alcohol (inside and outside) help, or do you think it would ruin the fibre?
If changing the straps on this model, to a far more durable fabric-elastic material (used on other 3M models), they can be used in excess of a month. Try re-testing after a month or two. In conversation with 3M reps here in Taiwan, they’ve suggested that the filtration effectiveness increases over time, though the breatheability declines. There’s a logic there, as the membrane becomes infiltrated with particles, blocking transparency in either direction. Please do test again after 4-6 weeks.
