Can Blast Be Used With Two Carbon Filters?

The HEPA and carbon filters are separated or modular in Smart Air Blast. Can the Blast be used with two carbon filters (in series) and if so would that improve the C-CADR over one carbon layer?

If filtering VOCs like formaldehyde and benzene is more important than particule, then stacking additional layers of carbon filters in your Blast or Blast Mini will help with this. Increasing the layers of carbon may slightly decrease the airflow and and particulate CADR, but overall may have a small benefit for the f-CADR.

It’s worth noting, however, that for filtering VOCs, the filter’s CCM (how much VOCs a filter can hold) is far more important than the CADR. That’s because what’s important with VOCs isn’t the speed in which you clean them from the air, but how long the filter can keep doing this. Fitlers with higher CCMs can hold more VOCs in them and can therefore be used longer. Adding an additional layer of carbon filters in the Blast or Blast Mini doubles the amount of carbon and therefore the CCM, meaning the lifespan will be extended.
