The CDC takes a cautious stance on emerging technologies such as bi-polar ionization to reduce COVID-19 transmission indoors. The CDC takes this stance due to the lack of “scientifically-rigorous, peer-reviewed studies” on these technologies.

Instead, the CDC recommends improving ventilation and the use of HEPA filters indoors, both of which have a long track record and concrete evidence they reduce COVID-19 transmission.
