The answer to this is “no”. Researchers fit-tested masks on people: new and after being worn for 3 hours. Fit effectiveness actually went UP for DIY masks. Surgical and N95s were basically unchanged.
However, it’s worth noting that it becomes harder to breathe in masks (especially N95 and N99 masks) as they become wet. However their effectiveness is not reduced.
