Can I Trust ‘Auto’ Mode on My Air Purifier?

Not really. We tested Xiaomi 2’s auto mode and found during a four-day test, the Xiaomi averaged a 56% reduction in 0.5 micron particles and 87% in 2.5 micron particles. We would say to trust an independent and reliable particle counter, instead of the machines’ in-built particle detector or light indicator. Keep your air purifier running at the appropriate speed according to the official AQI reads.
